GOOD EVvvvvvening 08S13,
While Christina blabbers on about Legendary horsemen and a land far far away, not really related to S13, or interesting.
HERE's something happening not too far away!
This is John Ting's journey from a microSAft executive to a social activist. In 2008, Ting traversed the rugged terrain of Cambodia. He came across a group of Cambodian Monks who were so desperate to read that they were reciting their ABCs, Just that they had to stop at A because they only had A book. Inspired, Ting went back to 08S13 to plead for help.
HERE's WHERE you come in.
Come on 08s13, I know you have a heart for pitiful Children around the world, especially when they're crying out to you for help. I know that you're dying in some way to give back to the community to expiate your sins and transgression. I know you just wanna dump some old decaying books out of your house. Well here's your chance!
For this 2 weeks, Ting will be collecting your unwanted books to aid the United Nations Association of Singapore cause of providing educational material for your cute and cuddly Cambodian kids.
Books should:
be in English.
be textbooks or storybooks.( story books are preferable)
be readable.[Not your kiam cai. I said decaying, not decayed=) ]
Storybooks may be those 1 sentence per page kind for toddlers, or Hamlet if you are willing to let go of it.
I urge all of you to donate at least 2 books each. Please, have a heart for me and those kids. It's time we did something as a class together. It's time we do something NOW.
