Happy Youth Day!

Dear 08S13,
Finally am able to get myself registered to contribute to this blog.

Hi Charis! It's great to hear from you. Hope you're doing well. I'm sure the class appreciates your note. But well, I do agree with you that the blog is a bit dead. So hopefully we can get it ignited again.

To start it off, can we have some posts of our photos during College Day (Eunice please upload!)? I'm sure those of you who were there to help out have had fun making Milo. You didn't know that making a good cup of Milo requires some level of expertise eh?

I've kept the Milo dinosaur board at my table now - it's too cute to dispose of.

I hope to see a greater rate of participation for future class events though - coming up Service Learning Day in August.

We are taking our class photo for the College Annual Magazine on 14th July. I encourage you all to think creatively of how to go about doing it. Any props, poses, theme? Choice of venue? It won't be a sit-down formal kind. In time to come, you'll look back at it fondly so do make it special!

Lastly, Happy Youth Day! In Singapore, definition of youth is anyone younger than 35. Hence, I'm also a youth :)

Hello Again! (:

Hey guys!
I know this is my first post here heh (also this blog seems rather dead but I think I shall close one eye, yes? ;) ) - just wanted to say I'm thinking of you guys and missing you all. I'll be back to school on Monday too (just had a 2 week break).
Will be over to visit soon, hopefully, after your common tests are over and if I don't have any upcoming deadlines to tend to myself ^^ In the meantime, hope you're all getting along well and good - JIAYOU and all the best for Common Test and PW alright? :D

Love and God Bless
Charis

Ting's dream

GOOD EVvvvvvening 08S13,

While Christina blabbers on about Legendary horsemen and a land far far away, not really related to S13, or interesting.

HERE's something happening not too far away!
This is John Ting's journey from a microSAft executive to a social activist. In 2008, Ting traversed the rugged terrain of Cambodia. He came across a group of Cambodian Monks who were so desperate to read that they were reciting their ABCs, Just that they had to stop at A because they only had A book. Inspired, Ting went back to 08S13 to plead for help.

HERE's WHERE you come in.
Come on 08s13, I know you have a heart for pitiful Children around the world, especially when they're crying out to you for help. I know that you're dying in some way to give back to the community to expiate your sins and transgression. I know you just wanna dump some old decaying books out of your house. Well here's your chance!

For this
2 weeks, Ting will be collecting your unwanted books to aid the United Nations Association of Singapore cause of providing educational material for your cute and cuddly Cambodian kids.
Books should:

be in English.
be textbooks or storybooks.( story books are preferable)
be readable.[Not your kiam cai. I said decaying, not decayed=) ]
Storybooks may be those 1 sentence per page kind for toddlers, or Hamlet if you are willing to let go of it.

I urge all of you to donate at least 2 books each. Please, have a heart for me and those kids. It's time we did something as a class together. It's time we do something
NOW.

08S13's amazing creativity

in the far away land of SAJC, lived a tribe called the 08S13. they have legends passed down from generations to generations. the legends of the CATs, Star Wars and another story so legendary people do not remember its name

remember something
1. support Christie's hockey competition
2. support the councils in class for elections (25th April)
3. support Cheney's drama production (26th April)
4. support Alicia's dance performance

did i miss out anything else?

re Re-education

all you man united fans, sing this to ting!

He's only a poor little scouser
His face is all tattered and torn
He made me feel sick
So I hit him with a brick
And now he can't sing anymore!

Build a bonfire,
Build a bonfire,
Put the Scousers on the top,
Put City in the middle,
And we'll burn the effing lot

take that ting!!

Re-education

All you man u fans out there open up and sing

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
There's a golden sky,
And a sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown....

Walk On! Walk On! With hope in your heart,
And YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE...
Walk On! Walk On! With hope in your heart,
And YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE....
You'll never walk alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rock Climbing Rocks!

hello people! its your very important chinese rep over here!

please do not forget to do your chinese homework in the midst of this long and agonising week. you can copy, photocopy, pay your friends to do it, ask your tuition teacher to do it or simply just do it yourself. but, if you somehow didnt manage to at least do one question, here's a little help on the way:

1. tell the teacher you couldnt find toilet paper, so ya, you used chinese paper instead. but please tell the teacher that you will get a new copy to finish ok? (:

2. tell the teacher your dog ate your homework. you fed your dog some indigestion pills, which worked, but your paper didnt come out as one piece. you can try asking her if she doesnt mind it wet. (:

3. tell your teacher you weren't wearing your glasses the other day and mistook chinese characters for arabic characters, so you threw it away. please tell her you're sorry about that!

4. well, this should be the most convincing excuse, but please do not try this alone. tell your teacher you handed in your work to your chinese rep (and that is me) but somehow he tried to sabotage all of you by losing all of your papers. although this is the best solution, but it is not something you should try without professional guidance.

well, the point im trying to get to you guys is : DO YOUR CHINESE HOMEWORK! NO COMPROMISE! (:
